Well, the OB called yesterday with the results from my bloodwork, and my progesterone is low. He said it's not too bad, nothing to worry myself over, but he wants me to take progesterone suppositories twice a day.
I like the guy, but I have a distinct feeling that he's soft-pedalling his opinions for my benefit.
I started the hormones last night. Please keep us in your prayers.
Em, I'll be praying.... the laid back style that I also love of Dr. Cortez is the exact same reason I am now where I am...I went into preterm labor with Johanna and he was WAY to laid back for us to continue doing nothing, we switch and I was on bedrest with a t-pump and a machine that measured my contractions every hour, this all for the last 2 months of the pregnancy! I always wonder what would have happened if we would have stayed with Dr. Cortez...
ReplyDeletego with your heart here. if you feel uneasy start calling around and cancel that insurance, right!? :)
love ya!
I am so excited for you guys! I had a feeling that was it!
ReplyDeleteAs far as the progesterone, that's an easily fixed problem, and it looks like your Doctor recognized the problem and came up with a solution immediately...he sounds great. You are the third pregnant woman I know of that had to do that, and both had healthy pregnancies and babies. I'm going to say many prayers for the three of you....well, I guess there is four now!
side note:The Doctor put me on Progesterone to ease my PMS and other issues I have had with regulating my period out. With you, of course it's going to help with the growth of the baby. I feel better if not fantastic when I'm taking it..skin and hair are silky and have more energy. It's a very calming hormone and pretty gentle...you should be able to sleep very well. Have you noticed any difference?
In doc's defense sometimes it is very hard to predict what will happen. Everybody's body reacts differently to things. A lower level of hormones might be fine for me, but just a slight dip may prove catostrophic for the next person. All you can do is trust your doctor knows what he is talking about and pray. God will do what is best for your family, but I will certainly put in a few extra prayers for you and your family. Best of luck and god bless!!!
ReplyDeleteu r in my prayers..always
